We've tried everything. Every time I try to join his game it just pops up with the game info and says that the server isn't responding. It doesn't let him invite me. How To Install Add-Ons to Your Garry's Mod Server

Garry’s Mod, also known as GMod, relies a lot of tools and addons. Installing an Addon can be confusing; especially to new players so here is a short tutorial on how to add an Add-on into the Gmod Server.

Download and install an Addon:

First, we will have to download the Addon for the Garry’s Mod server. Go to Steam>community>Garry’s Mod>Workshop. There should be a list(s) of addons and mods available, so choose the Addon and click on “subscribe.”

If the Mod is not downloaded from Steam, open a subscribed addon, right-click and “open file folder” and then copy the unzipped Mod into the folder. This should automatically install the Gmod addons.

Once that is complete, start Garry’s Mod. At the Gmod launcher, there should be a download bar. Once the Mod is downloaded, the bar will go away, and then quit the launcher.

Compile a collection for the Server:

Once the download and installation are complete, go back to community>Gary’s Mod>Workshop and click on “Browse” just above the addon Icon. Select “collection” then click on “Create Collection.” Insert a name for the Server.

The collection name does not matter, but most people use the addon names for that. Leave a description for the server add-ons as well. After that, players need to choose the tags. Tags will include the server content add-ons that are going to be included in the Server so check all the included options. This will also display the addons included in the Server to other players. Click “save and continue.”

Add edit Addons and Publish:

In the next page, click on “subscribed items” and choose the items that are needed for inclusion into the Server. Click on Save and Continue. In the next page, click on “publish.”

Go to the Steam website and log in. Select the workbench collection, which should be present on the main feed. Or go to Workshop and choose “your files,” then select “files you posted” and go to “collections.” Select the collection, and once done, take a look at the link URL.

There should be a random set of numbers at the end of the URL, which will come in handy later. Copy and paste this URL code onto a word processing tool. Make sure not to copy anything else other than the string numbers at the end.

Generate a Steam API Key

To generate a Steam API key, players need to go to https://steamcommunity.com/login/home/?goto=%2Fdev%2Fapikey.

Once there, click on “revoke my Steam with API key” and click on OK at the small pop-up. If the page asks for a domain name or code, type in “steamidfinder.com.” After that, check out on the “agree to terms and conditions” checkbox and register. In the next page, the API key should be generated. Copy and paste the API key along with the URL code.

Edit the .bat file:

Now a few edits have to be made using the code and key. This will require editing a file. Go to Gmod server’s folder directory and open the launch.bat file with a word edit tool. Look for +maxplayers 16, and insert the code “+host_workshop_collection INSERTCOLLECTIONID -authkey INSERTAPIKEY”. Make sure that there is a space after 16. Do NOT edit, delete or alter anything else in this file.

Now, open the word pad where the code and key were pasted earlier. Copy and paste the URL code and the API key by replacing “INSERTCOLLECTIONID” and “INSERTAPIKEY” respectively.

Run the Server with Addon:

Finally, the next step and hopefully, the final one is to run the Server. The server prompt will take some time to mount the addons onto the Server, and the more addons you have, the longer the mounting process will take.

Once the mounting is complete, it is time to see if the Server is working. Start the Gmod launcher, click on “find multiplayer game,” go to History or Local network, and the Server should be available on the lists under Sandbox. Inserting a multi page pdf into word 2016 for mac ...

How To Make A Private Gmod Server

For some reason I cannot connect to my friend's gmod server and any other person can. When I try to connect I get 'Connecting to sever' it loads 2 bars then it says 'failed to connect after 4 retries' I've tried reinstalling garrys mod, reseting my modem, restarting my computer, verifying the integrity of garrys mod, trying to join through legacy browser and trying to join directly off of my friend. I can join ANY other server but his for whatever reason thanks in advance
